I
took these pictures around Yosemite Valley, in Yosemite National Park, in the
high Sierra Nevada country of California. I visited the park in October --
the crowds were gone, but so was most of the water. All but a few of the
waterfalls were dry. Bridalveil Falls
was one of the exceptions - but the flow was very "wispy" - not much
water at all. And the
skies were occasionally filled with smoke from nearby forest fires.
Undaunted by these conditions,
the beauty of this special place prevailed anyway.
